    Default Power Trim/Tilt

    2000 Johnson 50 HP
Issue: Motor will not raise/tilt up--I can raise by hand if using the up switch. The motor lowers with not issue
I changed out the two relays and no difference

The motor is running-trying to lift it but just not doing it. Is this an issue with the pump? I assume the noise I am hearing is the motor. It does not bounce or bump.

Any ideas or help appreciated. Do I just take it to the shop and let them determine what is what?

May be low on fluid. It is a hydraulic piston.

I would try adding a little fluid. Has it been sitting up for awhile? Should have a bypass screw on it so you can raise and lower in a emergency. Might back that screw out and lift it up and let it ease down a few times. Could have a little air in system and that should help bleed. Then tighten screw and see how it does. If it is powering down it should also power up unless low on fluid, air in system or bypass sticking.

    Definitely low on fluid.

Thanks so much for the advice on my Trim and Tilt. I added fluid, bled the system a couple of times and added more fluid. The trim and tilt now works very well. Thanks again for the assistance.
