Despite a pinched sciatic nerve in my back I went to the lake. Why not? Heck, it's going to hurt about as bad setting on the couch. Since I had to crawl into the house the night it started I didn't want to be somewhere that I didn't have cell service in case something happened. I had a hard time finding anywhere out of the wind or where the water didn't look like chocolate milk until I found this TINY creek/cove and holy cow were the fish STACKED in there. The water temp in the creek was 49.8 and slightly stained. In parts of the TINY creek it was 18 ft deep but, so narrow that I couldn't troll 2 10 foot rods 90* out the side of the boat or they would have got caught on tree limbs. I caught my limit of BIG crappie in no time and they fought so hard that half the time I wasn't sure if I had a big bass or catfish until it surfaced and saw it was just another giant crappie. They liked dark colors better than lighter colors but, they did hit white flies some. I caught them on purple, blood red, dark blue and jet black. The only down side to this spot was all the trees that were down and I lost a TON of flies.
I'll not give my "secret" spots location since it's just a tiny little place and 2 boats couldn't even fit into the place.

sorry meant bat creek dern auto correct
Good job. Will the water ever clear up. Take care of that back, there's nothing worse.
Your right. Your back will hurt more sitting or walking then it will anything else. Have been dealing with that same issue for 10 years now. Ice and heat and a couple of alieves will help out. I just hate it when my leg gives out. Great report. I need to get out and find some clear water.
Glad you found them and some clear water. I hope the water has cleared up down this way (Chickamauga). I will find out in the morning.
Thanks for sharing the report.
Life is good. Fishing is better.
I've got the same issue, mine hurts in the lower back/hip area and is nothing but a PITA. Water may have cleared up by now, but last Saturday they were not pulling any water from the Razors landing area, main channel was calm and muddy. Glad you found that honey hole, they are always nice to have in your back pocket for those times. Last I heard about Bat Creek was nothing but muddy.
GO BIG ORANGE !
I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.
Great catch, I likeTellico, just don't get there much.
Good report thanks
