Most everyone locks they're trailer with the latch down. All someone has to do to take it is unscrew the nut on the bottom. the spring and the keeper will fall off. Put it on they'er hitch, put the spring, keeper, and nut back on and it's good to go. I always lock mine open.
I dont even lock mine, or take anything off of it, even elctronics. I guess I figure thats why I pay insurance. I have never had any trouble yet and hope i never do,I feel pretty safe at the state parks as I think most of your thiefs dont hang out there.
