Default The green jeans were out in full force Saturday

So I went to johnathan creek on Saturday to drown some minners and had a trolling motor battery fail on me around 10:30. We headed back to the ramp to load up and there was a warden sitting in his truck at the end of the parking lot. We trailered the boat and proceeded to go down and park by him to finish stowing the gear. While packing things up 4 more kdfwr trucks came pulling in with 2 boats in tow, one being a really sweet war eagle center console that I completely drooled all over. I believe there was 6 wardens total fixin to put in the water in 2 boats. Now I've never seen that many together in one spot so I was just curious as to what was going on. Did anyone hear of anything going down on johnathan on Saturday or were they just fixin to do a mass hassle of everyone fishing out there?

probably a training exercise. had one at the marina at Taylorsville last fall when I was there. They had fish and game, fire dept. helicopter ambulance and a lot of the parking lot blocked off. Also had about 6 boats around the courtesy dock. made it hard to get in so my partner could go get the trailer..

I was there and did get checked on Saturday. They were sitting in the bays and watching. Then coming out to greet you when you were fishing. No problems on my end. Thanked them for being out there.
If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.

I'm always legal, to the point of being anal about checking and double checking my required boating safety equipment. But what burns me up is they always seem to want to wait untill I've got my spider rig put out and 2 dozen minnows freshly baited up before they come over and check me. Then by the time I've spent 20 minutes satisfying them that they can't write me any tickets I've got tangled rods from to much drifting or from a caught fish that went unchecked and ran through the entire rig. Then i'll spend another half hour rerigging everything. I had one prick get in my boat and go through the livewell for 10 minutes checking every fish in it for length after he had already checked everything else under the sun trying to find a reason to write me a ticket. Seems like I never get the easy going older wardens that have some common sence and manners, its always the 22 year old fresh from the academy that has something to prove that wants to check me.

I must have been right behind you Saturday!!! When I came walking up the dock ramp I noticed one warden truck getting ready to back a small Jon boat in and also the larger warden boat parked at the entrance to the parking area. We loaded in between them unloading and watched as we were strapping ours down. They were laughing and cutting up from what we saw so that led me to believe it was just their day to be on the water.

Yep I'd say you were right behind me. The warden truck pulling the little boat was headed to the ramp as we pulled out of the parking lot. Did y'all have any luck?

No luck, our fault, we panicked when we saw everyone else steadily bringing them in and got away from the way we should have been fishing!!! How about you?

We didnt do well at all. My trolling motor battery took a crap an hour into the day and I couldn't control the boat well enough to run my spider rig right.
