    Default Starting to thaw out...

Over the last few days, things have really been starting to thaw out in my neck of the woods (including the deep freezer in my garage that died on me, but that's another story.)

With the thaw in the air, I can almost smell spring coming (and the rotting fish and deer in the dead freezer but I really don't want to go there.)

If I listen real closely I can hear my boat calling to me (although it's sweet voice is mostly drowned out by my wife's insistent demands that i do something about that freezer.)

I was just wondering if the fish are biting yet? (I may need somewhere to escape to... Soon!)
    Is winter over yet?

I think Puxatawney Phil moved to either Peru or Honduras. Not sure. I believe winter will be over five days before I catch my first limit.

Everyone has had a freezer go out. It's the pits. Plus, you have this old freezer that's useless. I have one at the farm in DeWitt. Just sits there. Plus you have to buy a new one. Plus you lost all that meat that costs $44,302.50 per pound.

    Nonetheless, Welcome Back.

Why not fish during the winter? I have caught my limit and enjoyed winter fishing ever since I started. Just bundle up and go for it. Less people to deal with, more comfortable....no bugs are scorching heat and fish still have to eat........I have caught my biggest and best fish in the off seasons for most. Of course I know many like to hunt instead but fishing is what I do and I enjoy every chance I get! Get that boat our and don't worry. If you find fish everyone is happy no matter when it is! Tight lines to you all!!!!

I bit the bullet and got a more expensive stand up freezer with a temp alarm on it... After my last one went out I never want to deal with that again.
