    Default New jig pole reel

Hello all it's been a while since I've been on here...

I'm looking at getting a/some new reels for my jig poles. I haven't kept up with what the best thing going is so I wanted everyone's opinion on what they thought the best option was.

I will be mainly single pole jigging at Grenada and I like spincast reels the best for my jig poles

What at I want in order of importance:
    1) spin cast reel
    2) small and light
    3) price----not spending over $40 on a jig pole reel though

Well, if you're only single polling I don't see the need to have a spin cast. The new Wally Marshall solo has a drag system and is very light weight. Only cost about $13-$14.

Got my Solo's from Grizzly Jig also. Haven't tried em yet. For those that have, is the lack of an anti reverse been an issue with y'all?

My only deal with the solo real is how high the line comes out of the real. The gap between the handle and line looks to be 5 inches. The little cheap bucks real I have on my poles is only a half inch between line and handle. It makes it easy to roll the line under neath your finger tips. Any of you that have the solo have any issues with this?

On a jig pole I keep the line between my hand and the handle anyway so that does not matter....my hand serves as anti reverse, and drag lol I even do this with the BnM quick change reels

PM me your address and I will send you a couple of small reels that I have used for FREE! They will work fine for single poling.

Has anybody tried the Grizzly Jig G-5000 I've got a few of them and really like them. Its the only small reel with a level wind i know of.

I usually put the line between my fingers anyway so I can feel better. You could always super glue a little small line holder up hear the real to run it thru so its tight to the pole. Just a little snip of Paper clip or something. Little dab of Alweld will hold it on for sure.
