Mike, what makes you think it's a hard job. Put the mount where you want the unit to sit. Connect a hot wire, preferably from your starting motor, with a 3 amp fuse in the line to the red wire, and a ground back to the battery from the black wire. The hardest thing might be feeding the transducer wire under the deck of a fiberglass hull but if you look under the dash if you have such a hull you might already have a pull cable feeding from the back of the boat. If you do use the pull cable be sure you tie another wire to it to pull it back to the console after you pull the transducer cable as you might want to use it again in the future. The transducer screws to the transom or to a transom protector plate which allows you to move the transducer around without making holes in the transom. It's really not hard and I bet you know someone who will help you.

Thanks Gene no I have an aluminum hull I have mounted several transducers before I just hate drilling holes in boat ,this thing came with 2 transducers. I think I will do it running the wires are no problem in this boat. The man at Bass Pro will go with me on the lake and show me just how everything works. He should for what this thing cost, I thought about going back to a string and nut with knots tied ever 6 in. L O L

Just read your instructions carefully and you will do just fine

Gee, with 2 transducers I'd put one on the trolling motor and get another base to put it up front, then you can move the unit from the dash to the front mount when you're fishing. I have one on each end of the boat and I love it.

I had a piece of aluminum angle welded to the transom so I would not have to drill a hole in the boat.

Instead of drilling holes into your transom, look at a product called Starboard. It looks kind of like cutting board material. You cut a piece of it larger than the size of your transducer bracket. Take some 3-M Marine grade silicone (made to hold up underwater). Glue the Starboard piece where you will be putting your transducer bracket, let it sit for 24 hrs or so. Then just mount the transducer bracket to the Starboard using screws that are shallow enough that they do not penetrate your hull. This sacrificial board can be used time and time again for other transducer mounts years later without ever having to drill holes into your hull. Check with Bass Pro or Cabela's and see if they do not have one of these sacrificial transducer mounting boards available.

That's a great idea, now I might have to move mine from a "shoot through" (its in the bilge), to the transom, so it can measure water temp.

Read the instruction book 200 times ---- then set it up on simulation --- that will allow you to begain to really figure out what it will do . settings you make in simulation will be made into the memory so you ndon't have to learn under a blowing wind. after you figure it out it will be the best thing on the boat after the motor .
