Congrats on the bass! Nice hit on the sacs, too. Next-door neighbor is camping and fishing over there right now - should get a report from him Monday.
Did the cold knock back the salvinia any?

I caught my biggest bass ever I'm sure. It went exactly 4 lbs and 19". Some real fun on that long crappie pole. Also managed 7 sacs. 4 egg loaded hens and 3 shad loaded males. It want be long with the warm weather coming, but I hope to find bigger waters as they recede after the rains. All were tight line on Bobby Garland baby shad. My ole stand by black/chart curly tail was nothing.
They were in 2' to 5' of water.![]()

good day mermentau.....git it again tomorrow?????????????palmetto? how far of a drive is that from lafayette....can my boat go in there??
It's 20min South of Abbeville. It's only for paddle craft and not that big. Pull it up on Google earth. They do have 6 or so canoes that they rent at the park and that's all you need in there. If you go make sure you have a pole to stick down or and anchor to hold you if it gets windy. I'm learning something fishing there. One thing about it the fish can't migrate away. Fish in a barrel so to speak.
Got a lot of pigs and canoe-sniffing alligators there, too!
