Fly ash is exempt from regulation, there is no legal obligation for them to do anything. They will put a dredge in, take the photo ops and play a bit an be done with it. Ash is heavy and will settle out, only every time it rains on the muddy banks, it gets stirred up again. Stuff is so corrosive it will eat holes aluminum boats! So watch out if you pull your boat up on the bank to store.

With any luck maybe we can turn back to those wonderful days, before EPA, and set the rivers on fire which happened.Cuyahoga river around Cleveland circa 1969.

Finally, a little bit of attention for the 3rd largest ash spill in US History.

"The pressure on Duke Energy over its coal ash practices has intensified as federal authorities revealed a criminal investigation of a “suspected felony” surrounding a Feb. 2 ash spill on North Carolina’s Dan River.

Duke and the N.C. Department of Environment and Natural Resources confirmed Thursday that they were subpoenaed to produce records before a federal grand jury that will meet in Raleigh next month."

Allow me to provide the proper Faux News spin. The horrible US Dept. of Justice is caring out a vendetta against the innocents at Duke Power, which the impartial NC environmental agency has properly investigated. This is class warfare everyone knows that rich corporations should be allowed to do as they please and those poor folks downstream are probably socialists and should be thankful that Duke Power is adding to the chemical diversity of the river. Why do they hate America. You've been Hannitized.

Maybe, maybe not. But here's some reading ya'll can do, to find out what to expect : https://www.google.com/search?q=watt...sm=93&ie=UTF-8

And you can ask DonG what he thinks about whether or not the ash spill at Watts Bar had any effect on the fishing, following the spill.

I'm sure our Governor, having such a close relationship with DE, will do everything in his power to assure the problem is dealt with in the most efficient way possible.
