The butte la rose launch easiest way to get there is to take the butte la rose exit from I-10 at the stop sign take a right and go all the way down till you get to the store with the carwash i would say 5 to 6 miles when you get to that store you take a left into the parking lot at the launch then head south on the river i like to take the thrid cut off the river that is if you count the first one that is at the launch they do have some signs and the cow island south sign is the one i use there is a pull over to get into the lake if the water isnt high enough to cross the weir if your boat aint to heavy you shouldnt have any problems pulling over on the right side of the weir i haved jumped my skiff over the weir using 4x4's but i wouldnt suggest doing that it can get kinda hairy no matter how careful you are good luck and let me know how you do!!!
