Default good googa mooga what a day

Got to spend the whole day on the water Friday. A thin skim of ice in the morning of about 1/4"thick. A lot of sights today, a pair of bald eagle, herons starting to nest, large flocks of migratory ducks, and thisName: 20140207_130316.jpg

Yes they are Sun dogs and You also see the ring around the sun. That is a better rain forecaster than any weather outfit can give. If You see a sun dog, just one, does not have to be both sides, You will get a rain with in 2 days. Check the forecast, if there is a chance of rain over the next couple days, bank on it. The amount of rain can be anything but it will rain. I check the sky every day for those and see them a lot nowadays with all the rain systems we have been getting. When the weather forecast is calling for a chance of afternoon thunderstorms in the summer, I don't pay it much mind unless I see a sun dog. Very good natural forecaster.CF

Sounds like another awesome day on the chick. So, I hate asking this question on the internet because typing doesn't convey curiosity (true intention) it may mask as passive aggressiveness (not my intention). But you have probably tucked away 6-7 limits in '14. That is roughly 300-350 fillets. Do you eat that much fish, give away, freeze etc?...I am just wondering because I love eating theses guys, but not sure I could eat at that clip. Again, nice job on the catching and another good report.

I supply the fish at a fish fry on the third Wednesday of every month. A good friend who passed used to take me rockfishing and supplied for years. Now that he's gone there are a lot of happy people that can continue this event thanks in part to my efforts. This event will need 50-60 filets per. There are also some elderly friends that cannot go fishing that appreciate fresh fish. I also stock up in the winter because I don't have much opportunity to fish during the warm season. I also eat a bunch myself, nothing goes to waste. I actually ran out before my season started this year.

Very nice gesture Mark. I was going to guess fish fry in my post. I do the same thing for some neighbors in the summer with spot. Fortunately, the crappie do freeze pretty good.
