    Default Aluminum Bent

I'm looking to purchase a 28" x 61" x 1/8" aluminum sheet and have it bent for a casting deck extension. I only need two 90 degree lips bent on the 61" sides, a 1" on one side and a 2" on the other. For the life of me I can't find any place in the OKC area that can do this. I had a shop but apparently he closed down. I have been to several machine shops. I was turned away by all except one who told me they would call me back. Well I'm still waiting. I am really not trying to go the wooden route. If it's outside OKC that is fine. Attached is a picture similar to what I am trying to accomplish. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Tried contacting this company. Left my details. They never emailed or called me back. The local company that I did find a weeks ago finally called me back and I about fell out of my chair when they quoted me a $440 price!!!! $317 just for the aluminum sheet that I can get off the internet for $60 and then $60 shipping. I did find a guy locally that will put the two 1 1/2" bends on it for me for $65. Just need to find a welder.

instead of bending it why not just weld a 1 inch square tube under it then weld your legs to that would be a lot stronger i think and probably cheaper

If you find that getting the aluminum welded to be outrageously priced as well, check out www.durafix.com. any aluminum welding I have in the future will be done with this stuff. Just an idea on saving money. Good luck. Eric

DrNip sending you a pm! You will need a specific aluminum to be able to bend it, without it cracking or just breaking!

DrNip, try L & L Welding, just north of 44th and High. We use them a lot for welding steel and cast iron, bet they can weld aluminum. They are always reasonable priced and fast.

I have seen the durafix before, but never used it. If you try it, please let us know how well it works.

L & L welding is who my co-worker referred me too Thursday. They couldn't bend it but referred me to somebody that could and that is the place that quoted me the $65. I work right off 51st and High.

I will be welding. Don't know how well DuraFix would last over time of me standing and sitting on top. Maybe for something smaller and less weight used on it than a casting deck. I spent a lot of money on this jon boat and don't want any rivets, wood or substitute in or on it. I have to have it ready within the next two months because this 1 1/2 years off from fishing is killing me!!!

I'll be contacting you Monday Redge to see what you got. Thanks.

Ended up going with Discount Steel located out of Fort Worth TX. My wife has been wanting to take a trip to Ikea so I'll just swing by and pick it up to avoid that hefty shipping charge. Will pick up this Saturday.
