I fished at em Saturday but did no good. I scheduled a personal day Friday. I'm gone!
Very nice work on actually every jig I've seen you make... Got a quick question on your paint jobs do you dip the jig at all in powder? Like on the white and blue did you dip it in white then tap the blue on? I tried putting the brush in powder than lightly tapping it to get it on the jig... Some places you could see the jig head and other places it seemed like the paint was to thick... I'm sure it takes a lot of practice just looking for some pointers
You could do it the way your talking about. Just dip n white n tap the blue on top. The one I did was three colors: blue top, clear/ glitter mid, white bottom. I tapped the blue, tapped the white, then tried to fade the two with the clear/ glitter mix. Didn't come out good bc I was rushing to get em done for the fish. I'm a slacker and never have jigs to fish with.
Try using diff brushes, thicknesses and stiffness es. I like horse hair. Tap over your jar and see how it falls first. Alter your approach from there. Maybe try to pick up less paint. Maybe more. Maybe tap from a higher point. It's all just trial and error. BUT, it's fun! I could paint all day. I get bored with tying.
Thanks for the reply I didn't see the middle color on your blue white till you said something about it now I see... I've been using the really cheap brushes on the ones I've done... I'll just play with it more and maybe I'll post my results when they come out better lol
Nice!!! There's a color called Winter Run blue at Grandpa Bobs - I got mine from another member in a trade but it would look really good on that white/blue jig
