This is a Caney Creek color that generally I don't use much but I had it out of hibernation to shake it up good and thought "what the heck"....
Basically I'm not crazy about the color stand alone so I juiced it up some with a little additional green hi lite and then added a pretty good dose of Do-Its bronze hi lite. As I worked the color up I laid drops of it on a mold back to get an idea of where the color was headed. I settled for what you see here.
The green line color is 4 ounces of plastic, two drops of baby bass and 2 drops of green watermelon. After I hand poured the pearl belly base color I topped the belly cavities off with the green on one side of the sprue runner and black on the other side of the runner. I heated the top color up to 360 and shot the mold to finish the baits. After some eyes [4mm] and a cover dip, this was what I ended up with. Notice how the backs look different when seen over the green line as opposed to over the black line. The baits with the green line really pull the green hi lite out in the top plastic while those with the black line have a super metallic sheen...not quite like polished steel but near it. If you look close you can see that bronze hi lite working in both colors.
Bronze is not a common hi lite color but one that works some serious magic in colors like brown and green. The baits shown here have a very natural appearance to them when held in the hand and the back color shifts relly nice in any light.
