You may have only caught five fish but look how much better you feel getting to go.

I made the trip to Harris yesterday since it was supposed to be nice weather. It was my first trip since they put in the new ramps. They did a great job with that! Not too many boats, despite the weather, and we headed for some spots in the main lake that have been productive in the past. 5 minutes in we get a good bite and I set the hook. I new right away it wasn't a crappie. Turned out to be a 3 lb. Flathead. About 30 minutes later, Lonnie caught a nice 12 inch crappie. Then it was about an hour before the next one, but it was a nice fat 11 inch fish. Long story short, the sun came out, the wind picked up and the fish never really turned on. We quit around 1:00 with 4 crappie and the one catfish. All were released for another day. I saw other guys fishing for crappie, but I didn't see them catching either. Water temp was around 40 -42 degrees.

Give a man a fish, feed him for a day.
Teach a man to fish, he'll sit in a boat and drink beer all day.
Thanks for the post Boyce. Glad to hear you got out for a while on good weather day.

Thanks for the report Boyce. I had thought about going but decided to chase rockfish in Plymouth.
Sounds just almost exactly like my day there on Saturday. My buddy did get an almost 5lb bass though, that thing was fat as a bear, it had been eating well.
Thanks for the report Boyce.
