Anybody doin' any fishin' in NEA? Just bought a new boat this month and I'm getting cabin fever. But this cold weather has been keeping me down. Took a ride around Mallard and Big Lake the other day, and they were covered with ice. Doesn't look like there has been a boat in either lake for a while.

Haven't been in a while. Hoping for a decent day to hit poinsett or the river. Just got my motor fixed last night and itching to try it but not brave enough to dare cold.

Wrapping up another good deer season, got my boat cleaned and ready to go last weekend. Work is really holding up my fishing this year. Cant wait to feel that thump!

Is it just me or has this winter been colder than the last few or what?

I would say you may suffer from the same ailment as I do. AGE. Years ago, I fished year around. Breaking ice and contending with ice in my eyelets. The cold seems to have gotten my attention as I get older. When it hurts more to be out there than it feels good, it's a safe bet your getting older.
    I'd rather be fishing.

Well I am getting older, but I'm still a young buck by most standards. I turn 30 this month. Think I'm gonna head out to the lake and see if pipes are moving water outa the woods since it's gonna warm up a little today.

Young Buck is an understatement. Button Buck would be a better description.

    Congrats on the new boat.

Went and took a ride around Mallard and it has about an inch and half of ice covering it. Pipes are flowing water, but I believe the current is too high to attract any fish with these temps.
