Being diabetic I don't get to have many sugar sweets, but had to at least sample your Coconut pies and got to tell you they were really good! So thank you and I believe your wife? She may have had something to do with them I am just guessing, LOL!

Thanks for the post and the pictures. It helps those of us who did not get to attend see some of the "fun" you guys and gals had.

Haha. I know what you mean. Diabetes stinks. But I sneaked a piece in also. If I'd have cooked them they would not have been edable. She's the chief cook, bottle washer, and pie maker at the free bird household. Lol. I'll tell her you enjoyed them.

I've been lurking and watching this fest come together. Great pics, but kinda glad I was bow hunting instead!! I fished the coop one time many years ago in frigid cold weather and wrote that off forever! haha

Glad ya'll still pulled off the food fest, sure looked good.

Darkmatter38 won the contest but he wasn't able to be there to weigh in b/c his house pipes had froze. Marshall Bridges had second place but said he didn't feel right taking the money when there was someone who caught one bigger so as a group we decided to allow Darkmatter to win and I would send him the money but when I PM'd him for his address, he said he didn't feel right taking the money either b/c you are suppose to be there to win so he asked that we just add it to the pot for next year's gathering. I have it stored up at the house and already marked to go towards both days at the toledo gathering next year.

I would like to thank both Marshall Bridges and Darkmatter38 for being GREAT SPORTS about this!

Next year, you WILL BE REQUIRED TO BE PRESENT TO WIN!!!! If the first place guy isn't there, then it goes to the second, if he isn't there, then it goes to the third and so on.
