    Default humminbird 858hddi

I'm having problems with this unit 858 HD DI and it's really not worked right since it was new . The down scan works fine but I can't get the 2-d sonar to show anything other than a white screen, even when I split the screen with the DI it still stays white. I have a lakemaster chip in it and it's interlinked to the 998SI unit on the console. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Have you tried disconnecting the 858 from the 998 to see if the results are the same...??

Greg must be teaching training classes this week...

I haven't seen him on any of the forums...

Go ahead and check the unit while disconnected from the other unit...we will troubleshoot what we can until Greg shows up...

Greg will check in as soon as he can...

Slabby....if you do not get it sorted out, head to milford to fish and I will pull one of my 858c Di units to let you use for the day (of course I will pull my mapping card with saved waypoints ). If mine works, its your unit, if mine does the same thing as your presently is doing then......

Thanks Kag that's a mighty generous offer but I don't know when I'll be coming to Milford and haven't had my boat out in a few months due to ice and wind and lack of motivation. I'll contact Humminbird mfg. and see what they have to say but really appreciate your help and Rnvincs help also...I'm pretty dense when it comes to electronics.
