It's bad enough they jack the price up in winter, but 4 dollar a gal!!!! I agree Beagle that is a load of crap.
Now it seems like a good think my house is all electric!
Just saw how much it was. That is crazy. We always prepay in the summer so it doesn't matter how high it goes in the winter. We paid $1.69 last summer. That was a real bargain.
First it's the gasoline shortage 'cause they send all our crude over seas, driving the price up so not only are they making money from the sale of the crude, but then they drive the price up saying, oh there's a shortage.... Now it's on the news that they are selling the propane overseas as well so That price will increase....then the retailers price gouge us some more....I believe it would be better to just go join the OMISH.....sorry for the rant, just tired of the vicious circle caused by their greed.
I filled up last November, 1.69. They filled me up again mid January at 2.29,I was told yesterday by my sister-in-law who works for a local gas co it was 4.29 and you can only get 150 gallons. I put a lock on my outside 500 gallon tank, I will not accept any deliveries of propane until this has settled down. I turned my thermostat down to 65 and I have a couple of infared heaters that are keeping things nice and warm.
Met with some fixed income clients yesterday that are feeling it bad, real bad. Older homes with little insulation and running that kinda fuel, that has to hurt.
Glad my truck don't run on LP.
The best way to get to where you want to be in the future is to act like you are there TODAY.
beagle 4.50 gal. now
Yep, when we quote people a/c systems we warn them about propane cost spiking. Which we are a heatpump market. We usually install 100-125 units a year. Out of them five maybe propane and half of them complain about there utility bills.
