Naw Chad your good I am still using RedNeck sonar I eat pork and beans for 3 days straight before going fishing hang my butt over side of boat in water and fart and time the return echo with a stopwatch. The upside is if there are any fish in the area they are stunned and float to the surface and you can just dip them up. The down side is they have a funny taste![]()

Chad, I still have an LCX-27C on my dash and it works just fine. I bought an HDS8 Gen 2 for the bow and linked them up with an ethernet cable. Any way points saved on either unit are transferred to the other unit. The biggest concern you will have is getting all the settings correct when you upgrade. I took my HDS8 to Danny @ BPS and he set it up for me.
After what seemed to be a nightmare with the Elite 7, I ended up with a Humminbird 858c and I absolutely love it..The sonar works great with a great picture and the GPS updates almost instantly. By no means am I bashing Lowrance but the Elite Series is a waste of time and money in my opinion. The HDS Series is the way to go if you absolutely have to have a Lowrance. Again, in my opinion, Humminbird gives you more bang for the buck and performs great!!!!!
