Nice, I have thought the same thing since I have so many Mallard Flank. I have some given from duck hunters, but I also bough a whole pound of them for a good price some time back.

great score Doug!
Just posted on the hunting section here and other places and they saved them for me or a trade which I'm fine with. Have to put them through the cleaning process before they can go in with my other materials first though!!
I am fortunate enough if I need some I know several guys that hunt a lot. Other than the pound I bought and the packs I bought I have one 5 gallon bucket I keep under my desk that is full of mallard and Wood Duck feathers. Love them Wood Duck feathers.
other than that is I had wanted some Canada Goose feathers and maybe even the goose to make a gumbo with we had 25 land out right next to my neighbors dock a couple days in a row. I took a pic with my phone and posted on my FaceBook yesterday, maybe the day before. If you were to look at my Facebook it's still there.
not sure this will work, but let me try to link the pic.....

Good feathers, Doug. If you go to dying em, lemme know how it goes. Been debating some diff dyes.
I see most saying the best brand of die for fly tying materials is Veniards! Here is an article.

The top three dyes I've seen listed are Veniards, Rit, Jacquards and I know some fly tyers who use Kool-Aid.
