Fishers if I was going to have the rods in a rack while pulling the answer is yes. They are stiff enough to handle 2 big jigs with plastics to handle that technique. I prefer rod in hand myself so I can feel the thump. That's what it's all about anyways. So with that said again a wimpy rod while pulling puts to much strain on your arms and elbows so I personally use the Huckabee Meat Dragga in 10' or the Huckabee Pulling Rod in 11'. Both are excellent Rods with Medium Heavy and Medium Actions. You will be surprised just how much difference in weight a single 1' can make in a full days fishing and pulling baits.....Ranger

One more tidbit of info is I am Working with BoneHead Tackle and developing a 10' Med Action Rod that will be Carbon Fiber with a 22" cork handle that will be an awesome rod for pulling and fishing tight brush. Excited about this rod and can't wait to get them on the water. So stay tuned and will post my results and thoughts when we get em on the water in the next few months.......Ranger

I have been using my 10 footers double-duty, pulling and spider rigging because I didn't want to invest in four more 12' rods when I started spider rigging last year. I prefer holding over spider rigging also, but sometimes it is just so effective. I have one crappie max 12' rod, but it is just too limber for me. The same rod in 10' is OK but add that extra 2 feet and it is just too much bend. I would prefer 12' rods or longer for spider rigging if I could find them stiff enough and under 60$ a rod.

Fishers check our Monk's they usually have very good deals on rods. Another tidbit if you get a quote on a rod BP will honor the same price I was told......Ranger

Went back to Bass Pro today and exchanged the original Crappie Maxx rods I bought for 3 new Tightlines (the yellow and black ones with the yellow tips). Man, I like the feel of these. Hopefully that will result in a positive fish count soon. Again, a BIG thanks to Ranger, IkenI, and everyone else for the help! I sincerely hope I can share the water with you guys one day.

Any advice for how I should rig them to get started? I was assuming two jigs per pole (or two minnows). Should my weight be below my bottom jig, or in between the two? I have seen videos both ways, but I just want a simple approach to get me a couple of fish in the boat so I build a little confidence. I'm guessing determining how heavy of jigs to use and how heavy of additional weight to keep the line verticle depends on water depth, current, and winds. Also, when you guys are using jigs, do you typically tip them with minnows? I look forward to the day when these decisions are second nature!
