So here I am punchin the dang clock
All you retired gubers are out shootin some docks
I am gettin pushed & pulled with an overload of work
While you fellars are catchin slabs with every jerk
After lookin at the excitement on crappie.com
I try to figure out how to drop the boss man a bomb
Cause after all this wishin about fishin
This Friday at clock in time I will be missin
You can try to call my cell or my home
But a busy tone is all you'll get cause I wanna be left alone
As the boss tallies up my hours for last week minus a work day
I'll be thinkin after that awesome trip to Crescent who cares about the pay
The finest gift you can give to any fisherman is to put a good fish back, and who knows if the fish that you caught isn't someone else's gift to you?"

The preacher man says it’s the end of time
And the Harris Chain, she’s a goin’ dry
The wind is up and my bobber's down
And you only get catch fish
    If you go down town

I live back in Clermont, you see
A woman and the kids, and my boat and me
I got Deep South rods and a 2-wheel drive
And a crappie boy can survive
    Crappie folks can survive....
"If you do not change direction, you may end up where you are heading."
