First thing I would do to the boat is get those seats out. There in the way and nobody is gonna sit that high while the motor is going. Then cut plywood to fit in 2 front sections and carpet those. U can take one of your seats and make your own seat by building u a little box frame and screwing it into that. That way u will be able to scoot up to the front of the boat and fish further away from the boat. Btw, a 70 thrust motor is not gonna work. Get u a used 30 with a 36 inch shaft. I have one if you want it. I also have a trailer that would be great for that boat.

I didn't know if my 14 footer leaked or not when I bought it. I flipped it over and cleaned all the rivet areas with a wire wheel on the drill down to shiny metal then epoxied over and around them before painting. It came with a trailer and broke 18 hp motor for $200. I sold the motor as a parts motor for $100. I used a 36" trolling motor on the rear for 10 years before I got a Johnson 6 hp for $28 at a carport sale. It got a new carb., coil pack, plug, fuel pump, water pump, rope and recoil spring. It hasn't been on the water since '03.
