    Default Cold Weather Jig Tying

With all the cold weather and snow (not here in this part of Texas but cold ) . I wonder how many of you are spending time at the tying bench. I know that I have put in more than a few hours. Not that I needed to tie any more jigs but more of something to occupy my time. Filled up one more jig box with spring jigs and if this cold weather last much longer I will have all the jigs tied up for next fall. Starting to need to make a material order as I have went thur some hair and feathers. Anybody else in the same boat. May have to work on some bream bugs for the fly rod next. Crazy weather!!!!!!!!!

Oh yes we have long johns, have mine on and it's cold as all get out here this morning even colder than Tyler North of here. We hit 14 today and that is way too cold! My tying room is at one end of the house and it's the coldest or warmest part of the house depending on outside temps so if I go on there today I will have to take my oil heater on there.

Man either your way younger than I am or a lot tougher. I use to fish when it was cold, but pushing 66 the peverbial worm has turned.

I may not be as old as Skip but I am sure you are still younger than me if you love this weather.

I do remember fish in here on Toledo Bend when it was 17 degrees, bass fishing and had to stick the rods into the water every few cast to get ice out of the eyes. Have to add that day we didn't get even one bite fishing jig and pig. Also use to love fishing in the rain in spring, but that is also out now unless it's not below 50. Seems the last few years things for me and cold have really gone down hill. I use to go to school when it was in the 40's and only a short sleeve shirt. Also use to do stupid things like play freeze out in the car running down the Hwy in winter with window down to see how quit first, LOL! All that surf is over here! Think you guys will see one day that at some point your skin gets more thin and me being on blood thinners doesn't help either, but cold never bothered me until maybe a year or so back and now, its over like the old song from Roy Orbison! I figure even you young people will at least know who he is, LOL!

I have seen cold and it is not pretty. When you are in a place where salt water freezes and it should not freeze in that area then it is cold.
