    Default Talquin (2014)

The bite is still good at Talquin. The new year started off with rain but still had to go out and fish on the first day of a new year. Here is a few pictures and fish over 2 lbs. We caught at least one fish over 2 pounds each day. All the 2014 fishes are still swimming and available for catching......

Nice. I knew you would do better when I left. Story of my life.

I always like fishing New Years Day! They say what you do on that day, you will do all year long. I see slabs for you all year. Going be interesting what all this water does, the river is out of the banks here and more rain for Sunday. My favorite January holes going to be muddy.

The fish we were catching were in deep water. Our baits were 1/4's and double 1/8's........with lead. The fish were from 18+ in the channel and they are there........last year at this time we were fishing in the back of the coves........cold weather keeps them gathered up.

Litewire, Me and heavy lead fished Saturday and Sunday and had 2 great days. I caught 2 that weighed 2.4 This was probably my 2 biggest fish. The rest of them were nice also. We caught very few fish that had to be measured. Good time to be fishing.

Talquin is a great lake for fishing. The channel is a magnet this time of year ......before long they will scatter again and the hunt will start all over.......ain't it fun.
