Thread: Has there ever been Shelbyville crappie club

Delmar and I are in the s-ville club. He is the original member and president. We meet up with a bunch of guys and a gal or two, shoot the breeze, jab each other, and meet at different spots around the lake. No boat is needed, no entry fee and everyone has a ball. LOL I guess the down side is we don't know who wins and no money exchanges hands. You who have fished with us know what I mean.

I ok with whatever way this goes but my only thing is some guys and gals don't have a snowballs chance in heck of doing any good in a tournament against people who fishing tournament before. With that being said could you have 2 classes to pay out, 1 for lets call it a pro teams, anyone who have fished in a tourney before and a amatur class, anyone who has never fished in a tourament and would be concidered an amatur for the whole year. Might just bring in some more players to the game, just a thought. I know I just like to fish for fun but some people take the tounament thing WAY to seriously. Any if we do get this going with a Lake Shelbyville Crappie Club(LSCC), then maybe we could have a SCC vs LSCC once a year and have the tourament one year on our lake then the next year on their lake. Just thought s going through my pea size brain.

What kind of numbers would it take to do this? The fall crappie tournaments struggled with numbers and how many people want to fish for one maybe two places. As far as two divisions I say no. The only way you become a better tournament fisherman is to fish against good fisherman. If this is gonna happen ya better get rolling on it soon if its going to happen this year.

Game for anything......would be nice to meet up with others and swap ideas and shoot the bull.....maybe catch a couple fish!

I'm game if u get it going. I like the idea of fishing opposite ends of the lake as well as no dedicated partner. It gives You the opportunity to meet new people. Like u said no ones gonna get rich even if they won all the tourneys.
