    Question Removing Stickers and Numbers

As some of you know I bought a boat awhile back in Tn. I finally got the paperwork straightened out and need remove the old Tn. stickers and numbers and put the new Registration stickers and numbers on her.

What is the best and SAFEST way to remove the old Stickers and numbers off of a fiberglass boat?

They make sticker and decal remover. I have used a razorblade window scraper go real slow and then clean the residue with alchol.

Hair drier and solvent for the residue. Heat the decals up until you can get a fingernail under an edge then gently pull them off. Don't get it too close, just close enough you can feel the decal getting warm.

hairdryer on low and go slow. You might try the product Goo-B-Gone, it worked great for removing adhesive labels and residue on some of my wifes crafting projects.

I used fingernail polish remover (Acetone) & a razor blade. It removed all traces.

I use a heat gun (low Setting) and goo b gone or denatured alchol also works. My friend owns a printing shop and he used these on my fiberglass boat to change the letters.

Paul just took all the old stickers off of our new boat with my hair dryer - worked perfectly and no scratches at all!

3M makes a body solvent to take the residue off after the decal is safely removed with a razor blade. Like mrdux said.....heat gun or hair drier helps a ton. Slow is the key. Don't get in a hurry. We do this all the time on our Ameren trucks. Some vandal removers will work well on the residue too. Plastic scrapers are also handy in this process.
If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.

acetone & razor will work but be careful don't dig, if you can get the stickers out of the way try PB Blaster. it works good for us at the work on the adhesive.
