Default Personal Best Redfish from a kayak! (video included)

I headed out to Choupique Bayou to look for some redfish in the kayak. I launched around 7am and fished until 11-12. It wasn't until around 10:30 or so that the fish started biting once the water started moving. I hooked up with a fish that I knew was big, but didn't know quite how big it was. After landing the fish I measured it and found it to be 31 inches. It was also tagged, so I'm calling to report the information on it. The fish was released to fight another day!

*This is the second video I've put together, so still learning what to cut and what to keep!

Wow nice fish and a great video. My Cuda would scream and cry if I drug it up on the rocks like that. Guess I'm a worry wart.

normally I don't have to drag it up that far. The water was real low this trip. I like to back my truck up right in front of the yak and load it, but couldn't this trip. That isn't an everyday occurrence

I've been looking for a good way to wheel the yak short distances, but there seem to be drawbacks to the solutions that I see.

Do you ever chase crappie or are you just a saltwater guy? Seems like I remember early posts when you where getting ready to buy your kayak.

I try to chase crappie, but I don't have luck with them at all, haha. I need to put in a bit more time on them to figure out what to do, but will wait until the spring for that. After these couple of trips, it's a bit to cold to be going out in the yak for me.

I need 60+ degrees with sun or 67.6+ with overcast. Becoming a reptile.
