The only thing better than a day of fishing. Is a week of fishing.
all was good to me
Try Tville another month other than May. Closest lake to me and I'll be working weekends all month.
I'm concerned about safety, as much as anyone .... but, I'm also looking at the normal weather situation for those early months. That's why I didn't want to start these tourneys any earlier than March ... and that may be cutting it close, even then. Snow, bad road conditions, icy launch ramps, or freezing temps do not make for a good tourney turnout !!
We're doing well to avoid clashing with CUSA tourneys, holidays, and various hunting seasons ... if we include every other club or sport pursuits, we're not likely to even have any tournaments. This whole tournament set-up is just a means to an end, that being a KY Crappie.com Club.
Many people cannot afford the expenses of belonging to CUSA or Crappie Masters. That's why we're trying to set these low $$ tourneys up ... not to compete with them, but try and work around schedule clashes as much as possible. There's just no way to totally do that, so it's up to the individual members to decide which pursuit they will follow.

That is so true but if we are going to get as big a turnout as possible this first year it would help. I know we started out talking about working around ckca tournaments that is why I was commenting on these tournaments. I know my wife and I have paid a membership for this year ckca and need to fish 2 more tournaments to qualify for the classic. If these tournaments work out next year we may not join ckca. I may be the only one tying to fish both I don't know. But I am sure if we set our tournaments up different we may get some new members from ckca who would join crappie.com. I know I am talking with several people about fishing crappie tournaments who will be joining one or both. In my opinion any time we can get other crappie fisherman to join c.com it is a plus. My wife and I wanted to try fishing tournaments and ckca were the only game in town when we joined. Make the schedule the way you need to and we will just make a decision on which we will fish no problem with us. We enjoyed the fall brawl and would love to fish with this group but understand we may not be able to. If we do ok we may also fish some cusa tournaments. There is no schedule that makes everyone happy so do what is best for the most and everyone else will have to live with that.

Het guys I would like to know what a fella needs to do to fish the C.com tourneys entry fee ect. I was looking at the CKCA tourneys this year also but haven't decided on them I do fish CUSA and Crappie Masters however with the rising prices in gas and the 300$ entry fees and me still not having won the lotto........ well I would like to have fun but not end up divorced over it. Just need some info will probly use my boy as my partner
I assume that since this post was posted right after my comment about Deer Season and you used the word "you," that this post was directed at me so I'll respond as politely as I can.
1. I'm pretty sure there are others on here that hunt, so I wasn't just being selfish and speak'n for myself.
2. I have 3 Grand Kids that I take deer hunting (13 total) and I enjoy every minute I get to spend with them in the woods AND in the boat. They all attend school and weekends is the only time they get to hunt with their Papa.
3. I spend over half my life on a towboat, away from my family and friends, and I have to maximize every minute of time that I do have at home. What you do in 12 months I have to work into less than 6.
I don't expect ANY of tourneys to be worked around my schedule, work or otherwise. If I'm home when y'all have'um, and time allows, I may try to fish'um. Frankly... Right now I'm lean'n toward just being a supporter and a spectator.
Every pi$$'n match I ever saw resulted in somebody get'n wet. Sure ain't interested in get'n wet.
Just the way I see it.
