Default Specks of a different family

Today after lunch I decided I'd take a ride into the other side of fishing, the saltwater side. My son was home and available so we ate lunch and headed out to Lake Decade which is below Houma. We were fishing for 1:30 and quit at 3:30. On my first cast with a bluegill colored swim bait that was already tied on my line, I had a hit and missed, and before I could get it to the boat I had another hit and a miss. Second cast nothing. Third cast and fish on, but then fish off. Then after no action for a while, my son brought in 4 in a row. Well I'm not so smart but I know when it's time to change bait. I put on a chartreuse sparkle cocahoe on a 1/4 oz. jig head. A few cast later and it was on. We'd hit two or three and then it would be quite for a while, and then we'd hit them again. We were just drifting with the strong east wind. After we had seven we cranked up the big motor and ran back to where we started and drifted again. We kept hitting them on and off for that drift, so we again returned to the beginning. This last drift was a little better with some nicer fish, then since we were on a tight schedule, we had to leave. The total for the 2 hours was 22 specks. Very nice by my standards. My son really enjoyed the trip since it's been a while since he and I had one. Here are a few pictures.

    My son Jared.

    A bucket of fish.

    All laid out.

Yours truly with the big fish of the day, no weight or measurements taken.

I would say a very successful day. Priceless I'd say.

Hey JR, looks like you did well also. I would have rather had 22 sacs.

Vet, I'd gladly have you down for a trip on any one of those days you mentioned, and on the one you didn't mention I'll be off on vacation.
