Unhappy SEARS TED WILLIAMS 7.5 HP help please

Anyone know SEARS TED WILLIAMS 7.5 HP. OUTBOARD MOTOR - 21758881 .
I don't know if this is the right place to post this. Is there a forum where I can get info on sears motors?
The motor is in mint condition. The carb was removed and disassembled. I got the motor intact with the carb removed and apart. I put it back together. I don't know if everything is there or not. Anyway when i pump the bulb it fills the bowl and the cylinder with gas. the gas goes straight through and doesn't pump tight. Once i get the gas clear the motor runs till the bowl is empty the fuel isn't pumping normally the engine stops till I pump it up then it floods REAL BADD again.
Anyone know what the problem is?
    Thanks

It sounds like something is not allowing fuel into the carburetor. There could be a part missing or have fallen out or broke. I can tell you this-I had the same motor you're talking about years ago and that would scoot across the water. When you get it fixed hold on!

It sounds like the needle, which is attached to the float is stuck open, or missing.I am going to guess and say there should be a float, a needle valve, a pin to hold them together, a few screws to hold the bowl over these things.i would guess to say its got a low speed and a high speed adjustment screw. Set em at least a turn out each to start it. that is probably about all the parts . try polishihg the needle/and seat so that it is not sticking open.

I have just gotten a Sears Ted Williams 7.5 hp motor. Sometimes it will run sometimes it won't. Appears to be no spark. Does it need a new magneto? Looking for help. Also does anyone know where parts can be gotten for it?

Best to start a new thread as this one is 10 years old.

I'd also suggest putting the new thread on the Mechanics forum.

What year is it? Try marineengine.com for parts. I would guess that your mag is fine and it probably just needs the points cleaned. Pull the flywheel and take a look. If you have any questions shoot me a pm. I have restored a number of pre 1950s motors so I can probably diagnose the problem.
