Default Minn Kota Traxxis vs. Endura

Other than the pivot head style what makes one better than the other ?

I don't do any trolling - I however do use the eletric motor to position the boat around docks so don't know if the verriable speed is any better 4 me than the traditional 5 speed.

This will go on my 14' Lowe so was thinking at least the 40# or even a 50#

I'm also looking for the best price & am not afraid to but factory reconditioned

I have an Endura 55 on my 14' fiberglass boat and it will push it 5 mph without a problem on high. 2-3 MPH on 3 (medium). If I had seen the Traxxis before I bought this one, I would have gone with the Traxxis. Variable speed, tilting tiller (on some models) 24V, Battery check meter, One handed stow, cam lock high adjustment... Its like a Cadillac compared to the Endura.

But, having said all that, the Endura is a good basic, powerful little motor. If you don't need or want any of that other stuff, then the Endura is a great little motor.

Yep, tilt mechanism is the difference on the Traxxis SC model, on the others, it's variable speed on the Traxxis. The Endura only has 5 speeds. Do yourself a favor, get the variable speed Traxxis. Top speed is not the issue, if both are 50#, they both should be the same or very close. The difference will be the ability to dial it down to a creep or to match the wind precisely, plus the Digital Maximizer will use less juice in doing so at the lower speeds. Max Speed will be very close on power consumption though.
