Yes flukes, Zulus, and topwater minnow softplastics are all fun. They are my favorite soft plastic top water next to a buzz frog.
I just got back from sammamish, my biggest out of 4 was 6lbs.
thats pretty big
well i went ou today and my biggest was only like 3.5 but i got at least ten fish. but you still beat me with that 6er.
The best part was, It was a 6lb smallie!!!!! I got a 3lber too and two 1lbers. I got all but one of them on a carolina rig in 35 feet of water. One of the 1lbers was on a crankbait at the launch.
I have been liking the old standered of just a 1/8th oz. jig head and a 3 inch twister tail in watermelon, i cant seem to go wrong. now i could probably cover water much better with a crank but that seems to do it for me, and there is nothing to it most of my fish hit it on the first initial drop. that six pound smallie must have put up one heck of a fight.
I caught a 5 plus smallie a few weeks ago and it took a few minuites to get to the boat. I was questioning what I had hooked at the beggining.
Koke you should try a smallie beaver on a leadhead, they are killer.
thanks i think i am going to have to look into these i remember eading abou them on an earlier thread, and master..i dont believe you i see the fish you catch it was at least 7.
