trophy bluegills and maybe crappie
I just wanted to let you guys know about a lake that is not known for panfish but it should be. Theres a lake in arlington called lake armstrong, it is well known for trout fishing and bass. Although i have never seen any panfish fry or even a panfish in the shallows there are bluegills in that lake that are 10+ inches. i caught 2 bluegills at that lake last year over about 10-15 fishing trips. There is not a good population at all but due to the amount of fish they grow to unbelievable sizes. Last week i went and didn't catch a single one. Im not gonna tell you how to catch them except that they wont bite on a worm or a curly tail grub though. And you wont find them were you would typicaly find panfish in a lake. Good luck to anyone that wants to try to catch one of these, and plllllllzzzz catch and release.
