Crappie Fishing near Sumner?

May be moving to Sumner area. Any information on lakes around that area to go crappie fishing with the Spring Spawn coming on. Any help will be appreciated.

Lake Kapowsin, Harts Lake, Silver Lake, and Tanwax Lake all have crappie. I've never fished them but have just heard about them. There might be someone who is able to chime in about it. It's probably better to fish from a boat for crappie if you're bringing one up here when you move. I know the lakes I've fished in western Washington you pretty much needed a boat to get to where the crappie were.

Look on google maps, from Sumner look at the blue spots just to your north and the blue spots just to your south (some of the southern spots have already been mentioned). I can assure you all of them hold crappie, the key is to figure out when is the best time to fish them.

I personally fish for crappie primarily on top water with a fly rod and do exceptionally well however, the top water bite may only be good for an hour or two each day right at sunrise. I also fish from a float tube or pontoon, some sort of watercraft is almost a must to find productive water.

Thanks, yes, I have a 12' jon boat with trolling motor. It works good for drift fishing but not if you have to go over a mile away. Slow but great for smaller lakes.

What are a few of the dry flies used? How about wets on a bobber? I've wanted to try fly for awhile, but not sure what to use. Thanks for any advice.

There is also Lake Sawyer, Angle lake, and I'm sure many others here in the Seattle area.

CrappMaster, here are a few of the poppers I use. At the moment I'm not home to verify, but I think I tie these on size 4 or 6 hook. I don't currently have pictures of any of the wets I use, I basically copied any crappie marabou jig color and just lightened them up so they are easier to cast with a 3wt fly rod. I'll try to add some pictures of the wet flys I use in the next two weeks.
