I've been seeing fish in the Sammamish river.

There's a ton of suckers in Washington and Sammamish that spawn in moving water. They could be suckers, peamouth chub, or lake whitefish which all spawn in moving water.

The only other thing I can think of are trout which still spawn in the slough or maybe cutthroat?

I would have to say suckers also,Cedar River is loaded with them in the deeper pools also.

masta, koke and i have caught some huge peamouth out of union. they get some interesting colors on them. you can catch them on just about anything but they don't put up much of a fight.

I had a big one smack a trolled rapala in canada.

water temps went as high 58 degrees today in some of the backwaters i was fishing for largemouth and was around 55 in most of the lake. I didnt see any fish on their beds yet. When do you guys think the bass will start to move up to their beds and spawn, when the water stays consistently at 60 or sooner? it shouldnt be too long if this weather keeps up.

this was on lake washington by the way

I do not think that it will be long especialy if the weather continues like this for the next week or so. You may see me out there this coming weekend.

Two more weeks at the most and all of the fish should be in 10 feet of water or less. We need night temps to stay in the high 40's to low 50's for a week or so. Looks like that's gonna happen for the next two weeks thank god.

We where out on Washington yesterday and you couldn't keep the smallies off your line. They bit everything from spinnerbaits to 4" lizards. Every NW facing stretch of rock in 5-8' of water was holding fish. They are not sluggish one bit:D. I cought my biggest fish right at the boat. I was reeling in my grub so I could cast again when I looked down and seen her grab my grub about two feet from the boat. I almost had a heart attack. She weighted in at 4lbs 8ozs on the digital scale. Too many people back in Newport Shores so I left that area alone. The perch are still schooled up but have moved into 20 feet of water. They were at 25-30 last weekend so they're moving up to spawn here soon. Look out for the next full moon.

This was the last weekend the regulars would have the lake to themselves. There will be bass tourneys for the next 5 weekends....look for it to get tuff unless you have a few good honeyholes you can fish in the late afternoon after the tourny guys weight-in.

They were over sand/gravel bottoms with deep water near by. Look for water 20' deep or so right outside of the Newport canals and you'll find them. Last week they were under I-90 so they are on the move fast now. They should be just outside any spawning areas you can think of. I would have kept more but the males were milking....eeeeeewwwwwwww!:D Keep 6 nice fat females for the deep fryer though.
