Lucky day. Spent all morning and half the afternoon looking for striper bait that never showed up. What the heck, I'll go crappie fishing. Caught two, one was 6" the other 15 3/4 crappie. Caught in on 1/16 oz. red head with watermelon Power Bait grub. Fish was holding on submerged tree in about 10 ft. of water. Of course I left the landing net in the car. Had to go over to Diascund to get Corker to take a picture. Hopefully he will post it for me.
Water temperature this morning was 69.5 when I took out at 5:30 it was 75. Pretty good increase in 12 hours.
Saw lots of crappie and bass in the shallows. I could get right above the crappie and they wouldn't budge off the bed. Tried every method I knew but they would not hit at anything. I put a grub on a drop bobber and put it right in front of there nose and they ignore it.
Friend caught 12 shell crackers today one was a citation. They should be spawning within a couple of weeks.
