Now that the weekend's behind us, it's time to go fishing! Friday was a good day @ Diascund.....but.....I didn't get any pictures(corks were diving too fast).....so.....that means a do-over tomorrow.
Did anyone fish there this weekend?

" SIZE REALLY DOES MATTER"
Camera batteries are charging & will be ready for action. Be sure to alert Adams to the liklihood that we'll need an official weigh-in tomorrow afternoon. :D
Seriously, I should have mentioned earlier that Dave Adams and his staff are VERY accommodating when you need to get an official weight. They have a certified scale and are happy to weigh your fish and complete the weight section of the citation form. I'm a regular customer, but there's never been any mention of a fee for this important service.

Corker, Did a half day Sat morning. Caught a bunch (100+) but only 5-6 keepers and nothing that needed scales or a tape. Unlike the past few weeks when they preferred jigs this weekend they were hungry for minnows. The wind came up shortly after day break so I still have not had the chance to work some of the deeper holes. Most of our fish were found along the bushes 4-6' of water. Seemed like you would go for ever with nothing then hit a bee hive of them..
It was busy with several large pickerel, three or four LM, a bream or two, plenty of white perch, and 1/2 dozen ring perch. I've definately learned how to tell when a ring perch has your minnow over a crappie. They can be rather trifling to say the least.
Go Gettem and let me hear a story when you get back... Heck I might take off Weds and do another half day... WX looks pretty good...

Wind, rain, and the occasional rumble of thunder--what would a fishing trip be without them? Once again, today featured not-so-pleasant weather. Sprinkles started by the time I got to my first spot this morning & the fish seemed to be hiding. Like last week, I marked lots of fish, but the bite was slow--except for gars. They were biting quite well. I probably hooked a dozen, lost at least a dozen more minnows to them, and landed two. The larger was about 34".
I picked up a few small specks here & there (including a newly discovered beaver hut). All together there may have been two dozen for the day. Only 2 or 3 were marginal keepers (just 10") plus this one-
Once again, close but no cigar---14-7/8".
This was a thick fish & may have made 2lbs, but I left my unofficial scales in the car & wasn't willing to kill the fish and later find that it was an 8th of an oz. short, too. Later this year, this fish will "grow up" to be citation size.
