Default 70 on the James today

Had a great day on the James today. Started out close to Osborne and found a mess of good sized crappie hanging out under a dock. I looked behind me and noticed Anchorman sneaking up on me! It was good to see ya out there today Vic. The bite died under the dock so I moved to the barge pits. Found some good numbers of fish hanging around trees in the pits but not much size to them. Water temp was around 71 degrees and most fish were caught about 5 feet deep in 6-12 FoW.

I kept a few for Dinner!!

Savannah greeted me when I got home and checked out the catch of the day!!

This is a big improvement. Last year she wouldn't even touch a fish for more than a millisecond.

Nice pics. Looks like you had a good day. Congrats on the catch! I see that you had your minnow bucket in the boat... what were you using for bait?

I used jigs all day. I put the bucket in the boat so Savannah could play with the fish. I used Grouseflys weedless jigs again today and am starting to like them a bunch. Every time I would switch to a regular jig I would loose it on the 2nd or 3rd cast. Garland baby shad blue ice performed well today too.
