Smith Mountain Lake Striper info

Hi guys,
I live near Charlotte, nc and love to striper fish. We fish all the lakes around here. I have always heard how great the striper fishing was on Smith Mountain lake and what a beautiful lake it is. We have recently moved a little closer and are now less than 3 hours from you. I want to come up and give them a try. Any suggestions on where to put in, where they may be in a week or two. Isn't that a loaded question. lol. Are you catching them trolling, live bait, water depth, fish depth, etc. Any info is appreciated. Also if we come up would love to spend the night and fish Sunday as well if anyone can recommend a nice cheap place near the lake.

Hey cwright there is a smith mountain striper forum kinda like c.com and you can also look up striper mafia, give me a shout if you ever need a partner. I've been up there a coupl of times, I know a little about the upper end and where to put in at. It's called smith mountain lake fishing forum
