Used this contraption to retrieve one of my favorite rod and reels that came out of my rod holders 2 nights ago. Can't believe it worked. Didn't throw it a half dozen times before snagging it. Lucky lucky lucky!!!

Good work. There is one at the bottom of the Nottoway River somewhere.

Nice going woody, I lost one at Discound a few weeks ago near the public ramp. You could make some money if you knew where all the lost rod and reals were.

I'd be glad to share my lucky rod retriever with you

Sure could have used that contraption when that bowfin flippered one of my rods overboard in the Chick. I think I will make one and stash it under the boat seat. Thanks for the good idea.

I made one very simular to that, not quite as fancy. I just took the two pieces of wire, wrappped them around a rod to form loop and teisted them a few turns, and then bent the hooks, They will usually straighted out and come free from anything heavy. I usually have a cat rod with me and use that to cast it with. It has found 3 rods for my brother, but the two I lost, didn't find. I wasn't sure where one was, and a nice??? cat was on the other. One of my brothers rods had a 7# cat on it. When they are agressive, don't set it down without being in a rod holder!!! I knew better and lost one anyway.
