I don't often fish Lake Meade in Suffolk but when I was there on September 1, 2012 I caught 134 crappie, now granted most were around 10" and my biggest was only 11.5" but it was one of my best days for numbers so I figured, heck, it's the same time of year, let's do it again. I was off yesterday so off I went. Well, after having only caught 1 crappie after 4-5 hours of fishing, I knew it was going to be a tough day. Well, I had been long lining as that is how I caught a lot of them in 2012 but didn't have any takers until I switched to an Electric Chicken curly tail jig that my daughter had bought me for fathers day. I was long lining down the center of a long creek arm that ran north south and picked up 15 crappie which was fun after spending so much time having only caught 1. The two biggest were right at 1lb including this one.

I picked up a few more here and there but I will take 20 over 1.
I showed surface water temp around 82 and the lake is down 1.5' which makes getting your boat back on the trailer a real challenge as it is a very steep boat ramp which drops off quickly.
