In Louisiana if it is 3.9 lbs it would be a state record. If it is 3lb 9 oz it would be number 2. That is white or black crappie. That is a beauty and think if it was a female and someone catches it full of eggs next spring.

Great Googily Moogily! Nice fish. Congrats.
You really set the bar real high on that one, congradulations on a lifetime catch. Awsome job with the release as well.
Anyone know a good taxidermist do do a replica in the richond area? Thanks
Take your time, there will be a sportsman show soon and you can see for yourself the kind of work they do. A pic is OK but seeing with your own eyes,#1. I've used the fellow across front the Sandston P.O. in the past but don't know if he does replicas. He's done a fish for me that is 20+YO in my garage and still looks good. Been in business long time. Check out a bunch, I'm sure you will find 1 to fit the bill.
Gona use bubba denton with fish art tax. He did a smallmouth bass of mine back in 97. Highly recommended.
Wow what a slab, congrats on the catch and release, thanks for sharing.
