North River, April 4, 2015
I went out on the North River Friday, April 3. I fought a serious wind for five hours, from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. I caught 33 fish: 30 crappie and 3 fliers. The fish were suspended 4 to 8 feet deep in 12 to 16 FOW. I fished my baits about 6’ down. The fish really liked baby-blue colored baby shads, and John Deere green Kalin’s grubs. The water temperature at the surface was 54 degrees when I arrived and 60 degrees when I left.
Yes, I tried shallower water but did not mark any fish. I also didn't find them in a nice sheltered cove: they were suspended off the windiest point around.
Here is what I brought home for supper:
Good luck,
Id
