Live minnow or red wiggler on a three way rig would be my choice bank fishing. I've caught a many of em with red wigglers on the bottom. But they will eat a bgbs too

The lake I fish got stocked with yellow perch last year and I caught one from the bank casting a bgbs... What do you all use for perch? Could I throw a drop shot from the bank with a 1" gulp minnow or piece of night crawler? Or are plastics like the bgbs okay to use? It's not likely I'm going to catch a crappie right now fishing the mouths of creeks or atleast my last few trips tell me I'm not going to so figured I'd try for the perch a little lol... Any help would be appreciated

small saltwater gugon minnows work great and they are tuff so the perch can not steal them like shinners.
Gotcha I'll try minnows probably next time but I might bring some worms too... Thank you
Fish the same way you would do for crappie...only deeper.
The drop shot rig will work just fine or even a slip bobber setup
Perch usually stick close to the bottom so bottom type rigs work for them. CF

They do like hanging out very close to the bottom. From the bank I would use a slip cork rig. 3" cork with a 1/4 or 3/8 sinker. You can suspend it or set the bobber stop high and let the lead hit the bottom. The great thing about the cork is you can avoid snags while cranking in. Wind quick and you hook will rise to the cork and avoid bottom structure.
Also try a small bobber slip cork rig above your drop shot rig. A tiny cork that your lead pulls under. Lead hits bottom and you give it a little slack and the cork will stand your drop shot rig up.
Don't neglect the 4-5' water. They will cruise shallow water.
WE CAUGHT ABOUT 60 TODAY WITH WHITE AND ALSO LIME JIGS CLOSE TO BG STYLE,BUT THEY ALL WAS CAUGHT WITHIN 6 TO 8 INCHES FROM BOTTOM AND SOMETIMES TOUCHING THE BOTTOM IN ABOUT 28 FOW,BARELY MOVING,DON'T KNOW MUCH ABOUT BANK THOUGH

I'd say I caught the one casting in 8 to 10ft of water but that hole gets around 20ft deep off this rock ledge... I've never really used a slip float and last year was first year trying dropshot... Always used fix cork or casting jigs... I'll try everyone's suggestions and see how it works out... Thanks everyone for your input
