I went fishing in Carolina the weekend before last, on Saturday, November 22. That was a great day of fishing. The morning was beautiful too:

I started fishing around 7 am, and by 9 had six fish on the stringer. Then, I twiddled my thumbs for two hours waiting for the next bite.

The lull ended at 11:15, and by 1 pm I had boated 33 crappie. I threw back six dinks.

When I finished and looked at the stringer, I had 27 on there. So, I threw back 7 more to keep it honest and decent.

Those fish were in 8’ of water, right before the depth rose to 6’. The water temperature was a cool 43 degrees, and only semi-stained. I was spider-rigging a jig/minnow combo at a depth of 6’. Chartreuse and Cajun Cricket colors were good second-choices by the fish.

Good luck fishing!
