Diascund Reservoir water level
I went by DR yesterday and found the level has dropped to 22.5'. That is 3.5' below full pool and 1.5' lower than the recent "normal" level. A launch is still possible, but shallow areas (including the saddleback near the ramp) are no longer navigable.
Waterworks employees advised that this reduction is due to normal consumption and not the upcoming spillway repair project. Due to a paperwork problem, that project will most likely be delayed until early 2015. While the repairs are under way, the lake will be down 6'. A severe level reduction throughout the spawning season can't be good for the crappie population.
On a positive note, more grass carp will be released in DR next year.
