Default monday 10/6 with a famous guide at buggs

Fished main lake on stumps and brush piles. Water temp 70 degrees, wind blowing steady , at 15 mph mainly ne. Brush piles , stumps , and rubble piles hidden but holding tons of crappie. guide clicked around 173. we had crappie from 6" to 16". kept 50. Plastic Was better than his famous bucktails. bigger ones bit Cajun cricket, and lime colored plastics. water depth 15' and lots were caught hopping on bottom, and some about foot off setting still until the fish loaded very softly. They were biting the best in morning , but the bigger ones were after lunch. had 4 that were 15" to 16" and were hitting Cajun cricket All 4 put back to swim again.the bite was at 10' to 15'. Pendng on what type of structure , bigger fish came off stumps. all was vertical jigging , we did not swim the jig. this guide was on his game. I will probably hire him again.

I appreciate the report! Enjoyed the day, the fishing just keeps gettin better an better! adding that small swivel worked like a charm. Jiggin plastics usually twists the line, but I started adding a small #8 Spro swivel 18 inches above the jig, no line twist! and holdin the jig still was the ticket for the bigger bites!

Sounds like a super fun day! Makes me wonder bout all this hunting I'm doing!!
My wife swears I only do enough surveying to support my hunting & fishing because I'm too busy hunting & fishing !
