798 Hummimng Bird No GPS fix

[Got Fish]

I have a 798 fish finder. I can not get a GPS fix. Any thoughts on what may be the problem? Thanks

Go to the Fishing electronics board here and ask this question. You will have better results. Sounds like Your GPS in the unit has crapped out but if anyone has a suggestion it will be in the electronics forum. I have the same unit. Not had any trouble with mine yet.CF

If you call HB support the first thing they will have you do is a master reset. With the unit powered on, Press the MENU button twice to the main menu on the system. Then you press the RIGHT cursor until you get to the SETUP menu tab. Once you have reached the SETUP menu tab, use the DOWN cursor until you reach RESTORE DEFAULTS, you will then press the RIGHT cursor key to restore the defaults. To confirm press RIGHT cursor again.

I did a soft ware update and it stated working, in the back at least. I will see what it dose on the lake. Thanks

Mine did that and I sent it back to HB they said the internal antenna circuit board went bad, worked for about 2 weeks and done it again, sent it back and hasn't done it since.
